Site update

The music page has been updated with a new tune called "Devil's Advocate." The name refers to the contrasts in the tune, and intended to be almost like seeing both sides of coin (to use a tired, old cliche'). The song came about when I got together with a friend of mine named Robbie Weeks, an amazing drummer who lives in SC. We wrote the tune on the spot and a few hours later had something we both liked. Hope you enjoy it as well.

What next ?

I have been pretty slow to update the page for some time now. Ok, that's an understatement :) I haven't updated the page for a loooooong time. I'm going to be putting additional content on here soon, but first I've got to figure out what that might be. One likely thing, though, is some video from the event I'll mention below...

Musicians camping at my house!

Every year, somewhere between 30 and 50 guitarists, bassits, drummers, and other instrumentalists show up at my house and refuse to leave for somewhere between three to five days. This all got started when some of us on www.musicianwar.com started discussing how cool it would be to get together and talk music all weekend. Several years later, it's grown into a multi-day event which includes a huge live jam at a local club called GTO (in Griffin, GA) on Saturday night.

We film the aforementioned jam, tweak the audio and video, and distribute it, along with footage from the rest of the Meetup (hanging out, doing clinics, and so on) to all attendees. However, we usually don't post much of it on the internet. This year, I'm thinking it might be cool to let others see what's going on, so I will be posting some of the live jams and other clips, provided I get permission from the participants. The event is held at the end of MArch, so it'll take me a little while to go through the hundreds of hours of video and get stuff posted here, but it'll be worth the wait :)

UPDATE

A friend of mine, Brett Funk (who goes by the screenname "Funky" just about everywhere) has put up videos of the 2006 Meetup on YouTube. There is a boatload of video up there with many excellent players, including everything from live jams to hanging out to casual guitar noodling. You can find the video at:
